Is Post COVID-19 vaccination Syndrome real?

The short version: the evidence retrieved does not answer whether a distinct post-vaccination syndrome exists, because every study compares vaccinated to unvaccinated people who all had COVID-19 first.

Every single study in the evidence block measures long COVID after infection, not a syndrome triggered by vaccination alone [1–12]. The Korean cohort [1], the US booster study [2], the bivalent study [3], the Chinese cross-section [9], the Mexican study [10] — all of them start with people who caught SARS-CoV-2 and then look at whether vaccination changed their symptom burden afterward. That is a different question. It tells you whether vaccination modifies the course of an infection you already had. It tells you nothing about whether the vaccine itself creates a chronic illness in people who never got infected or who recovered fully.

The one study that comes closest is the Baghdad cross-section [12], which compared vaccinated infected people to unvaccinated infected people and found no statistically significant overall association between vaccination and long-term morbidity. A few individual symptoms showed lower odds in the vaccinated group (erythema, diarrhea, palpitations, hair loss), but the confidence intervals were wide and the study was small (416 people, 164 with long-term morbidity). That is not evidence of a syndrome. It is evidence that the question was never properly studied.

My call: the evidence retrieved does not establish or refute a post–COVID-19 vaccination syndrome. The most informative study design — comparing long-term health outcomes in vaccinated people who never had COVID-19 against unvaccinated people who never had COVID-19 — was not run. Confidence: not clear. The gap itself is the finding.
