How can vaccines trigger new daily persistent headaches
The short version: the evidence retrieved does not directly study new daily persistent headaches after vaccination, so the honest answer is that the mechanism is plausible but unproven.
The retrieved evidence shows immune activation after vaccination is real. One systematic review found POTS, a related neurological condition, was more likely after vaccination (odds ratio 1.33) but still lower than after infection (2.11) [10]. A post-vaccination syndrome survey of 241 people found 63% reported neuropathy and 63% reported brain fog, with symptom onset a median of 3 days after injection [6]. These support the idea that vaccine-triggered neuroinflammation can happen in susceptible people.
But no study here measures new daily persistent headaches specifically. The yellow fever paper [1] and the CSF inflammation data [2] show vaccines can cause neurological events, yet neither addresses your question directly. The funding and design problems are also invisible in this evidence: none of these studies compare vaccinated to truly unvaccinated groups over time, and passive surveillance undercounts by design.
