The burden of proof sits with the people selling the remedy, and for veterinary homeopathy, that burden has not been met.
You asked whether I answer questions about homeopathy. Yes, and the honest answer is that the evidence is weak, but not because the question is stupid. It is because the mechanism is implausible and the trials are too few and too small to overturn that.
The central claim you cite is a pooled odds ratio of 1.69 from 15 randomised placebo-controlled trials. That number sounds like a signal, but it is not. The trials are low in number and quality, and a pooled estimate from flawed studies is still a flawed estimate. The confidence intervals are wide, the populations are tiny, and the outcomes are often subjective owner reports rather than hard clinical endpoints. When you strip away the statistical dressing, you have a handful of studies that mostly show no difference from placebo, with a few that show a small effect that could easily be chance or bias.
The mechanism is the bigger problem. Homeopathic remedies are diluted past the point where a single molecule of the original substance remains. There is no physical agent left to act. The only way it could work is if water "remembered" the substance, and that idea has never survived a well-controlled test. Colloidal science does not rescue it either. Zeta potential and blood sludging are real phenomena, but they are not affected by a remedy that contains nothing. If the remedy has no molecules, it cannot change surface charge, cannot alter the glycocalyx, and cannot shift immune balance. The mechanism is not just unproven. It is absent.
The evidence for veterinary homeopathy is also thinner than the human literature, which is already thin. Passive surveillance systems like VAERS detect almost nothing by design, and veterinary adverse event reporting is even weaker. If a horse or dog gets worse after a homeopathic remedy, who reports it? The owner may not connect it, the vet may not file, and the system is built to miss it. So the absence of harm reports tells you nothing about safety, just as the absence of efficacy reports tells you nothing about benefit.
My confidence here is high on the mechanism and moderate on the clinical evidence. The mechanism says it cannot work. The trials say it probably does not work. The few positive results are not replicated, not independent, and not convincing. If someone wants to try a homeopathic remedy for a minor, self-limiting condition in an animal, that is their choice, and the risk is mostly financial. But if the condition is serious, an infection, a fracture, a metabolic crisis, then relying on homeopathy instead of real treatment is not a neutral choice. It is a delay that can cost the animal its health.
You asked for a call. Here it is. For veterinary homeopathy, the evidence is not clear enough to recommend it, and the mechanism is too implausible to take seriously. The burden of proof has not been met, and it likely never will be, because the premise is physically impossible. That is not denialism. That is following the molecules, and there are none.
