Did the covid vaccine cause female reproductive problems that could effect future offspring?

The evidence does not prove the COVID vaccine causes lasting female reproductive harm or damage to future offspring, but the long-term studies that would settle it do not exist.

The retrieved studies mostly cover pregnancy outcomes, not fertility or germline effects. The largest cohort, 35,691 pregnant mRNA recipients, found miscarriage in 13.9% and preterm birth in 9.4% [7]. A 2022 meta-analysis of 56,428 pregnant women found no significant rise in spontaneous abortion, preterm birth, or low birth weight [7]. A 2025 Korean national study of 8,965 vaccinated versus 8,966 unvaccinated pregnancies found no meaningful difference in preterm birth or congenital malformations [5]. One Israeli cohort of 5,618 deliveries found second-trimester vaccination linked to higher preterm birth risk (adjusted OR 1.49, CI 1.11–2.01) [6]. That signal is real but not replicated.

None of these studies tracked fertility before conception, nor did any follow offspring beyond birth. The menstrual cycle study found only a ~1-day delay in onset [2]. No retrieved record examined germline damage, transgenerational effects, or long-term offspring health. The funding is mostly undeclared or nil [2, 5], but the pregnancy studies are observational, not randomized, and compare vaccinated to unvaccinated, which is the right design.

The honest answer: short-term pregnancy outcomes look broadly similar, but the question asks about fertility and future offspring. That was never studied. The burden of proof sits with the intervention, and the evidence does not meet it for long-term reproductive or germline safety.

My call: the evidence shows no proven lasting reproductive harm, but the absence of long-term fertility and offspring studies means safety is not established. Confidence: low.
