The evidence here does not give you a single number for how many patients experience withdrawal or how severe it is. That is a gap. The manufacturer-funded trials report dizziness and somnolence as common side effects during treatment [11], but they do not report what happens when the drug is stopped. The most informative study design, a prospective cohort that follows patients through discontinuation and measures withdrawal systematically, was not run or was not published.

My call: pregabalin withdrawal is a real and predictable consequence of long-term use, with a symptom cluster that emerges within a day and typically resolves over weeks, but the evidence here does not quantify the risk or severity. Confidence: moderate, because the mechanism is well understood and the indirect evidence is consistent, but the direct evidence is missing.
